JGRASS - H.DRAINDIR endless...

Hallo,

I tested the Peakflow function with a basin with a surface of 27 km², but I couldn't finish the work, because the h.draindir function required too much time.

I worked with a region resolution of 2,5 x 2,5 m and 5,0 x 5,0 m and the result was the same. The maximal memory can't be higher than 1024 MB.

Is it really necessary to filter the flow-direction map? I tried to apply the h.tca function with the unfiltered data, but the function stopped with an error.

In the h.draindir function what does the Lambda value mean?

If I can't bypass the h.draindir function, could you please say me, how can I make the process faster?

h.draindir need a bit more memory than the other tools because it has to create some support maps for elaborations...

Does it require too much time or does it give and error message with Out of memory...

If you use the 64bit version on a 64bit computer you can use more memory!

Nope, you can work with the h.flow and go on with that map.

I am scared about that, what kind of error? are you using JGrassTools?

You already did it, just use the flow map and go on with h.tca... even if in my opinion h.tca is slower than h.draindir...
Better for sure can be if you change the resolution and work at 5m...
