Problem running refresh.xml

Huy La
When I ant build refresh.xml, I get the following termination:

-------------------------

Buildfile: /Users/hla/Documents/svn/udig/plugins/net.refractions.udig.libs/refresh.xml

BUILD FAILED

/Users/hla/Documents/svn/udig/plugins/net.refractions.udig.libs/refresh.xml:11: Problem: failed to create task or type antlib:org.apache.maven.artifact.ant:remoteRepository

Cause: The name is undefined.

Action: Check the spelling.

Action: Check that any custom tasks/types have been declared.

Action: Check that any <presetdef>/<macrodef> declarations have taken place.

This appears to be an antlib declaration.

Action: Check that the implementing library exists in one of:

        -/Applications/eclipse/ganymede/plugins/org.apache.ant_1.7.0.v200803061910/lib

        -/Users/hla/.ant/lib

-a directory added on the command line with the -lib argument

Total time: 161 milliseconds

-------------------------

The problem line refresh.xml:11 is:

-------------------------

<artifact:remoteRepository id="udig.snapshot.repository" url="${updateSnapshotURL}" />

-------------------------

What am I doing wrong?  Thanks ahead!

You need the ma en anf tasks plugin in your dropins eclipse folder.

It is part of the extras download.

Re: Problem running refresh.xml

Daniele Andreis
Hi,

I have the same problem, I have the maven ant task plug in in my
dropin directory (version 2.0.8). I have followed the instruction at
http://udig.refractions.net/confluence/display/ADMIN/08+Libs+Refresh.xml+Ant+Script
and I have put into dropins folder the version 2.0.1 but it doesn't
work. I'm working on a mac os with jre 1.5.

thanks and regards

Re: Problem running refresh.xml

Andrea Antonello
Guys, I had the same and the error message is clear about where it
wants to find the lib. In your case:

--------------------
Action: Check that the implementing library exists in one of:

        -/Applications/eclipse/ganymede/plugins/org.apache.ant_1.7.0.v200803061910/lib

        -/Users/hla/.ant/lib
--------------------

Once I put it there, it worked for me.

Ciao
Andrea

Re: Problem running refresh.xml

Daniele Andreis
Thank you for your reply,

I have this library org.apache.ant_1.7.1.v20090120-1145/lib (which is reported as error in my case). I have found in the guide that:

If you get an error about "org.apache.maven.artifact.ant:remoteRepository" your ant is not configured correctly
.....
This appears to be an antlib declaration.
Action: Check that the implementing library exists in one of:
-C:\java\eclipse\plugins\org.apache.ant_1.7.1.v20090120-1145\lib

Please ensure your eclipse dropins folder contains the org.apache.maven_ant_tasks_2.0.10 plugin. This plugin contributes the required ant task for the refresh.xml script to download jars from a "maven" repository on the internet.

So I have copied this plugin into the dropins folder, but I haven't solved the problem. I have followed the guide in linux and it work well with the same version of plug-ins, maybe in mac os I have to set somethings else?

thanks and regards

The instructions are for Galileo (which has a dropins folder). For earlier versions you need to add the plugin to your eclipse plugins/ folder. The dropins folder was added in Eclipse 3.5 in order to make things more sane (so you could tell what you had added yourself).

Hi Daniele:

I am also working on Mac and have not had a trouble; did you restart to allow eclipse to construct its ant classpath based on all the plugins?
You can also set this stuff up by hand...
1. download maven ant tasks (http://maven.apache.org/ant-tasks/index.html)
2. place it somewhere
3. add it to your ant classpath in the eclipse preferences for ant

We got sick of difficulties describing this and bundled it up as a eclipse plugin to add it automatically to eclipse ant classpath.
