TextSymbolizer prefix?

I have this xml rule:

  <Rule>
    <TextSymbolizer
    face-name="Arial Regular"
              size="12"
              fill="#4e4a47"
    spacing="100"
    largest-bbox-only="false"
            placement="line">[sop]</TextSymbolizer>
  </Rule>

Is it possible to put a prefix/suffix on the text symbolizer? E.g:

  <Rule>
    <TextSymbolizer
    face-name="Arial Regular"
              size="12"
              fill="#4e4a47"
    spacing="100"
    largest-bbox-only="false"
            placement="line">"SOP: " + [sop]</TextSymbolizer>
  </Rule>

I tried doing the following sql in place of the [sop] but mapnik threw an error (the query works in postgis):

    >(select 'SOP: ' || sop from my_table) as data</TextSymbolizer>
