Hello everyone
It seems to me that there are some issues with toilet tagging, that seems to have come from wheelmap.org. Not to criticise wheelmap.org, they are a great part of the OSM ecosystem, using data and contributing valuable data. The issue is when somebody flags an object as having a wheelchair accessible toilet the object gets tagged with 'toilets:wheelchair=yes' (or no), but the parent tag 'toilets' never gets set. When 'toilets:wheelchair=no' is set we can't infer whether there are toilets but not accessible ones, or no toilets at all. However I believe 'toilets:wheelchair=yes' should always come with, 'toilets=yes'. How would everyone feel about a large edit to amend this? Hi Cj
I'm doubtful. There could be two different buildings next to each other, for example, one with accessble toilets designated for wheelchair only (tagged toilets:wheelchair=yes) and one with inaccessible toilets (tagged toilets:wheelchair=no and toilets=yes). In that case, you wouldn't want to make your suggested edit, would you? Wheelmap are an honourable organisation but can be a bit simplistic. I would have thought that toilets:wheelchair=no should add toitlets=yes Of would you prefer a manual (site) check Dan. Might wheelmap developers be open to a change to theapp. _______________________________________________ Talk-GB mailing list [hidden email] https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-gb |

> I would have thought that toilets:wheelchair=no should add > toitlets=yes The issue with that is toilets:wheelchair=no is also added when there is no toilets at all. Wheelmap doesn't currently register a difference between no toilets, and toilets but not accessible to wheelchairs. > Might wheelmap developers be open to a change to theapp. I've reported it before [1] but they seem to have not gotten around to it.
