jgrass automatic build engine

Andrea Antonello
Hi JGrass'ers,
due to the recent problems with the JGrass update site installation,
we decided to release again complete branded JGrass packages.
For doing this in a decent way we spent some time setting up a
building mechanism, which we more or less achieved. I still want to
integrate with continuos integration and testing, but that will come
later on.

Anyway, the building engine picks up the newest JGrass svn and deploys
it for windows, linux and macosx.

Some notes about the bundles:
- the windows version comes with java and grass bundeled,
- the linux version with java bundled and assumes that you will use
your local grass installation.
- the macosx version come without java, since java is a bit a strange
thing on macosx. Macosx users will need to setup their java
environment with jai/imageio on their own. Also grass install is for
them to take care. I use that from http://www.kyngchaos.com

Please give me some feedback about those packages, which can be found
in the builds folder of the official JGrass download area:
http://dev.fsc.bz.it/download/index.php?project=jgrass&master_location=/data/savane/www/downloads/jgrass&file_location=/data/savane/www/downloads/jgrass/builds

Also please file up errors, doubts, feature requests in the
bugtracker. These days things said by email get lost quickly. The
bugtracker is forever:
https://dev.fsc.bz.it/bugs/?group=jgrass

I'll be a bit offline in the next days, but please let me know if the
install in that way goes smooth.

Ciao,
Andrea

Re: [JGrass-users] jgrass automatic build engine

Daniele Andreis
Hi,

I have just installed the linux version (on Kubuntu.10). Now I haven't the problem in the project and layers view but I have other problem. If I try to modify the Active Region and fits it on the current raster map (Change Style...==>Set Region To Raster Map), I don't see the Choose Raster Map Window, there are only a small icon in the panel (which can't be enlarged). So I can't select the map and the program is beeing bloked. I have to change somethings in the proprieties?

ciao

This is a problem also Silvia has (had?). It has something to do with
the new ubuntu intrepid. It doesn't happen to me, since I removed the
olde installation .kde folder, which was keeping old settings.

What happens is that the window opens, but stays behind the settings
window. I think this is a window manager issue of linux.
Silvia, when you get online, can you tell us if removing the .kde
solved the issue.

Andrea
